#1 Ooni Koda Gas-Powered Outdoor Pizza Oven

It couldn’t be easier. Turn on the gas and the Ooni Koda Pizza Oven can reach temperatures up to 932 F (according the manufacturer). You can also turn the heat control dial down to cook the pizza at a lower temperature. Our oven took approximately 25 minutes to heat the pizza stone to 800 degrees Fahrenheit at full power. The Ooni Koda’s super-high heat can cook pizza in just 1 minute. This will allow you to feed your family quickly. It’s also great at searing steaks and chops, roasting vegetables, and more.

This oven is stylish and has no chimney. It also features three legs that help it stay stable on any surface. The body is cold-rolled, powder-coated steel with stainless steel accents. It weighed in at around 20 pounds and was easy to transport. When it’s time to store or travel, the legs fold down. This comes with a stone baking board for the perfect pizza crust. This oven can cook pizzas up 13 inches if you aim well. The pizza stone is 13 1/4 inches across. It also has a larger brother that can handle pizzas up 16 inches. This oven can also be converted to natural gas.

#2 Roccbox Portable Gas and Wood Pizza Oven

The Gozney Roccbox pizza-oven will delight pizza connoisseurs. That’s because this portable oven—which can be powered by either gas through a propane hook-up or with wood—can turn out a pizza every 90 seconds. Because it can reach temperatures exceedingly high of 900 degrees Fahrenheit, the oven is extremely fast.

The device can be easily moved with its retractable legs and carrying strap. (Do note, though, that carrying it around is a bit of a workout—the oven’s weight tops 50 pounds).

The oven comes with a thermometer so you can measure the temperature. It also comes with a pizza peel that allows you to easily slide pizzas into and out of it. Its dual heating options are handy: You may prefer the flavor that comes with a wood-fired oven, but you can’t beat the convenience of a propane hook-up. And, the oven is ideal for cooking other foods that benefit from a high temperature as well—not just pizza: Our tester seared steak, caramelized peach and onion tarts, and crisped up a whole fish.

#3 Camp Chef Italia Artisan Pizza Oven

This propane-fired pizza oven is a great alternative to brick ovens. It has a double-layered ceiling which keeps heat in the oven and browns the crust while the top of the pizza cooks. This preheats quickly, so you’ll be ready to cook in about 15 minutes, and it gets hot enough to cook a pizza in 8 minutes or less with the 17,000 BTU burner—our tester baked 12-inch pizzas in about 3 minutes. To avoid burning the pizza, you might lower the heat to the lowest setting.

It has an integrated ignition valve and temperature adjustment so that you can adjust the heat to achieve the desired temperature. The temperature gauge is built in. checkThe internal air temperature can be adjusted by the ventilated doors. It’s lightweight, but it weighs in at 50 pounds.

It is made of stainless steel and can be easily cleaned. Our reviewer suggests that the interior be left on for approximately 15 minutes after cooking to melt any cheese or flour, then use a bench scraper and collect any charred bits.

#4 Onlyfire Universal Stainless Steel Pizza Oven Kit

If you have a gas-fired grill, maybe you don’t need another outdoor appliance just for pizza. This insert is designed to work inside a gas grill—with the lid open—while it provides a perfect space for cooking pizza evenly on the top and bottom, which is something you can’t do by simply throwing a pizza on the grill grates or on a pizza stone on the grill. The base is 17 inches square, so it’s wise to measure your grill to make sure it fits. The Onlyfire kit was used by our tester with both her Weber grill and a smaller pellet grill. The included pizza stone measures 13.5 inches in width and comes with a 13.5-inch pizza peel. This will allow you to place the pizza perfectly in the oven.

The oven is made of stainless steel and has a double-walled roof to keep heat in. There is also a thermometer at one corner. The internal temperature can be easily read. Although the kit is better than cooking pizza on the grill directly, our tester warned that there are some learning curves. She found that she had the best results when she closed her grill, which is contrary to the instructions as it can cause damage to the thermometer. It might not be the best way to make perfect pizza (our reviewer found the bottoms of her pizzas cooked faster than the tops), however, it is a great solution for someone who loves grilling and doesn’t own a pizza oven.

The grill is the heat source for this kit, so the maximum temperature will vary depending on how powerful the grill is. For charcoal grills, a similar kit is also available.

#5 Presto Pizzazz Plus Rotating Oven

If you prefer cooking your pizza indoors, but you don’t want to heat up your huge oven and your kitchen, this pizza oven does the job—and it’s fun to watch. It cooks pizza in about half the time oven-baking would take, whether you’re making a frozen pizza, or your own homemade version. The pizza tray rotates constantly to bake the pizza evenly and without burning. It heats from both sides. The heating elements can be controlled separately. For example, if the crust is brown before the cheese is melty, you can turn up or down the top heat.

A timer turns off heat automatically so you don’t have to worry about your pizza burning. The pizza tray is removable and has nonstick coating for easy cleaning. This can cook pizzas up to 12-inches in diameter.

You might have seen a few different versions of the Presto Pizzazz while looking for second-hand models. Although packaging and finishes may have changed from time to time the pizza maker and its controls remain the same for every model.
